Paris & Plaid

Today Brittyn had an award ceremony at her school for Honor Roll. I wanted to bring out a piece in my closet that I hadn’t worn in awhile and I chose my plaid high waisted shorts. I thrifted these shorts last year and love the classic look to them.

I wanted to give them more of a dark look and pair my shorts with my ‘PARIS’ top that I wore on thanksgiving. Since the top of the waistline is covered by the top, I ended up pulling off a rocker tomboy look.

Our 2012 Christmas Tree

This Christmas we brought a real tree from a family from Oregon who sells trees. They grow the trees all year in Oregon, then travel to Palm Desert to sell them. Since they were family grown, we were glad we could help them out.

They even had some sprayed white, incase you want a white christmas.

After we got the tree tied up to the Hummer, we brought it home and then it was time to decorate!

The theme for this years tree was to have a color blocked tree. My mother and I wanted to tie fashion into our tree. We decided to make the tree on trend with color block and found these great ornaments from Target.

Only problem is, we had to tie the hook on every ornament. Which took up a substantial amount of time…. We ended up making another trip to Target to buy hooks.

Then came the fun part…. the DECORATING! First, we had to string all of the lights.

Then came the ornaments, we started with red.

Next, the pink ornaments.

Then came the purple ornaments.

After purple, came blue.

Last, we added the green ornaments on the bottom.

Merry Christmas!

Style Cap: Jordan

Meet Jordan! One of my coworkers at Kate Spade, she wore this very chic look this past Saturday and I had to capture the look. She had on a black long sleeve shirt, tweed skirt, and flats. I also loved the zipper details on the back of the shirt and skirt. We are having our first taste of fall weather here in the desert so her look was the right way to bring in the fall.

With the cold weather, Jordan decided to bring out her tweed Kate Spade that she bought earlier this year. Under the skirt was actually a long sleeve dress from Target, because she didn’t have a black long sleeve shirt. She frequently wears fitted dresses under skirts. (Which I will be definitely trying out.) She chose a very nice gold statement necklace to tie the look all together.

Zebra Rings & Bright Things

I started my seasonal position at Kate Spade and I have been trying to really become a Kate Spade girl with my style. I don’t own any skirts (weird, i know!) so I tried on my sisters skirt from the Target kids department. I tried it on with a long shot and it actually fit!

I paired the patterned with a chambray and bright jewelry to tie in with the skirt. To keep the shoes neutral, I wore my black Sam Edelman flats. I thought the look fit in with Kate Spade’s love for color and girly fashion.

Polka Dots & Politcis

Yesterday was an exciting today for two reasons: it was my first time voting & it was my second day at my new job. To stay in the spirit, I brought out my new polka dot cardigan from Target with my black zara pants and loafers.

Nicolas Ghesquiere leaves Balenciaga

After 15 years as the Creative Director, Nicolas Ghesquiére and Balenciaga have decided to part way. Which is just adding to the trend of Creative Directors or Head Designers of major fashion houses that have changed directions. 2012 is fashion’s year of change.

I’m very intrigued to see who will replace Ghesquiére and how Balenciaga designs will be from here on out.

The Dark Side of Alice in Wonderland

This year I couldn’t really find inspiration for my Halloween costume. Then I remembered that my sister Brandy had this costume left over from MoMoCon Convention. So the day of Halloween I chose to wear the dress. Only thing is we didn’t really know what the costume was…

So I called a brainstorming session with Brandy and we thought up “The Gothic Alice” from Alice in Wonderland! My mom did my make up and we did an exaggerated lip like the Cheshire lip & the joker.

How did I do as “The Gothic Alice”?
