as many of you remember, my sisters and I traveled to Tokyo last July for almost a week. It was an amazing trip and we now want to make it a staple to take a trip every summer. This year we chose a domestic location, but it’s a new city we’ve never been to.
My next step is to pack which is a task of it’s own.
Told ya I caught the travel bug! Can you guess our next destination?
After a long day at work, my blogger bff Nicole sent me the best text ever “come meet us at the pool”. I was so happy and immediately headed home to change and head to The Riviera.
I met up with Nicole and her friend Chasity at the pool. The pool had fun music and everyone there looked like they were having the time of their lives.
After some great pool vibes, I had to check out the gorgeous room Nicole and Chas were staying in for the weekend.
I was obsessed with the décor of the room and how much The Riviera has changed. I remember visiting Palm Springs as a kid and it was so outdated. They’ve made it fit perfectly with the midcentury theme of the desert.
The girls invited me to hit dinner with them with two new friends from Miami that they met at the pool. We then met up with Ana (who is also a fashion blogger… small world!) and her high school BF Katie. Katie brought her sweet baby Vienna (I hope I spelled it right). We hit the hot spot Trio and had great girls talk at the table.
Such an amazing day with great friends and new friends! Isn’t that what life is all about.
Tomorrow is the fourth of July which means lots of food, alcohol, and time with family. Here are my essentials to make it through this holiday weekend:
Denim (shorts): this weekend is typically hot and denim shorts are always my go to! They are always so easy and can go with any look that I want.
Converse: You will most likely spend lots of time on your feet or walking while out this weekend. Converse are super versatile and can help you make it through the day, while still look chic. I recently bought my mom these Andy Warhol x Converse low tops and they are twist on red, white, and blue.
Alcohol: Yes, this is the biggest necessity. (Not too much though!)
Bandana: I love bandanas to shield the sun from my face or to keep me cool. They are stylish and have purpose.
Have a safe and fun fourth of July weekend everyone!
This was the last look Nicole collaborated on at The Saguaro. This time we utilized the color walls for great color blocked shots. When we were brainstorming this look, we both found shots against the colorful walls and just knew that had to be a backdrop.
I styled my color block look with a turquoise and white hounds tooth jumpsuit by Michael Kors. The print of the jumpsuit played well in contrast to the wall and helped me still pop against it. I kept my look retro with my oversized pearl necklace and Louis Vuitton wedges.
Nicole styled herself with this boho chic look. She wore a printed tribal maxi from Forever21 with a Michael Koru belt. Then coordinated her accessories with a brown clutch and wedges. I loved how our looks differed, but it showed our personal style.
We had lots of fun shooting on various hotel balconies… hopefully no one were in the rooms while we were shooting. If they were, I’m sure they had fun watching us.
Nicole had a gorgeous boho chic look with her maxi dress and wedges.
Happy Thursday! Are all of you posting #tbt photos today? lol I definitely have a throwback for you all… Birkenstocks! Yes, the “Jesus sandals”! I remember in middle school all the girls in school had them and I REALLY wanted a pair too. I maybe wore those like 5 times… smh. Well Birkenstocks have reappeared in my life and I am OBSESSED. They are so comfortable and really make any look casual chic. (I might be stretching it with that, but I just really like them.) This will definitely be my summer essential sandal this year.
In a little over a week, the coachella valley will be taken over with visitors for the coachella music festival. i was inspired by the festival to shoot my coachella style looks. coachella, like many music festivals, brings the natural hippy out of everyone. girls come from all over in their shortest shorts and crop tops with sandals or boots to enjoy a great time.
My look completely embodies the freedom of the desert. I started my look with my cuff dark denim shorts from Urban Outfitters. I bought them about 3 years ago for a kid cudi concert. I wanted to look coachella-ish..lol. I chose this ripped shirt for my top, because i love it! it’s always on the borderline of appropriate. If you look closely I do a shoe change during the shoot to give the look some versatility!
Welcome to the new “The Trapped Fashionista”! I did a major change to the site in the last 48 hours and I love the look. I was looking at the way the blog used to look and it was a bit outdated to me, so this new change is fantastic. Please enjoy and comment on the new layout!
This month’s “theme” at Kate Spade is Monaco. Since this year is the year of places to go, people to see! I am love with the entire collection, especially the Corley dress (shown below). It is such a spring/summer essential. With every collection thus far, I have wanted to travel to every place. *Books flight!*
