Nail Art

Upon being inspired by my sister Bryce to do my “confetti nails” I have become midly obsessed with the nail art world. I love that you make your nails a whole look on their own. I will now be looking at my nails as an accessory of all my looks.

Here are a few (somewhat) simple nail designs:

Get this look: Brandy’s Peasant Romper

This past week, singer, Brandy performed at Howard University for her new album ‘Two Eleven’.
She rocked a blue peasant ruffled top romper and black studded combat boots.
I’ve spent all day on the internet looking for the romper Brandy wore or a similar top short combination. I was not successful in my search, but below I have my closest look:

‘Haute Hippie Silk Romper’ (Nordstrom)- $325

Although the romper is not the same peasant style, it is the same color and you still get the romper look.
I do feel I got the boots perfectly with these Steve Madden studded boots.

Steve Madden ‘Tarnney’ Boot (Nordstrom)- $149.95

Also, Make sure you take a look at Brandy perform her single, “Put It Down”.

Target & Neiman Marcus make a HUGE Announcement!

An unexpected fashion collaboration is coming forth this fall…is everyone ready for a Target & Neiman Marcus collaboration???? I know I am. This fall Neiman Marcus & Target plan to release a Holiday Collection featuring 24 CFDA designers. The line will be composed of 50 items that will be sold in both retailers on Dec. 1st from designers like, Marc Jacobs, Diane Von Furstenburg, Oscar de la Renta, Derek Lam, among other designers. The price point will range from $7.99 to $499.99.

Target is really becoming a real name in the fashion industry, which is great to me because I go to Target atleast twice a week! Especially, with all of the high fashion collaborations they have had in the past. This seems like the most interesting being that Target is more mass appeal & Neiman Marcus has a set higher priced customer. Wanda Gierhart, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at The Neiman Marcus Group, described the parternship as a “modern approach” to cross-shopping. “Customers love innovation, and they want a surprising shopping experience,” she added.

Not many other details have been released , but I will keep posting on any new developments on this project!

What do you guys think of the announcement from Target & Neiman Marcus?

Five Looks under $100 for Fourth of July

Fourth of July is a day of picnics, bbq’s, fireworks, & fashion. Here are five various looks that you can rock on the fourth & even after:

Style Cap: Joseph Perry

This style cap is very past due, I have been trying to get JP to do a style cap for a VERY long time. Everytime I have asked, JP never felt his outfit was blog post ready…. even though he has GREAT style and he would be my style cap Hall of Famer! LOL Finally, I got him to do a post.

JP’s inspiration for his look was denim! Almost every piece he had on was denim & he wanted to show the versatility of denim. Which I believe, he accomplished with his various shades & types of denim. For example, he was wearing a blue chambray shirt & his pants were oatmeal denim. Great use of contrast.

Blazer- Joseph Abooud
Shirt- Custom made from Nordstrom
Pants- J Crew
Tie- Club Monaco
Shoe- Nordstrom

Thanks JP!

Solange in Glamour France speaks about her style..

Solange Knowles was featured in this month’s Glamour France in a fabolous photo shoot. Whoever styled this shoot was great.. They played on Solange’s known 60’s inspired style & added a little urban flare.

When asked about her personal style Solange said,” [My style is] very eclectic as I like to take risks, but I always cling to glamorous touches and classic details. I’m not necessarily inspired by magazines or fashion. I surf a lot on blogs and find it cool to see real style from real people. My travels also influence me. I always take lots of pictures, and then inject all those inspirations into my wardrobe, my home decor, or my makeup. And we can’t forget the icons: Diana Ross, Erykah Badu, Bjork, and Lauryn Hill.”
