a day with the girls!

After a long day at work, my blogger bff Nicole sent me the best text ever “come meet us at the pool”. I was so happy and immediately headed home to change and head to The Riviera.

I met up with Nicole and her friend Chasity at the pool. The pool had fun music and everyone there looked like they were having the time of their lives.

Yes, sometimes I do selfie. Especially when I have gorgeous friends.

After some great pool vibes, I had to check out the gorgeous room Nicole and Chas were staying in for the weekend.

I was obsessed with the décor of the room and how much The Riviera has changed. I remember visiting Palm Springs as a kid and it was so outdated. They’ve made it fit perfectly with the midcentury theme of the desert.

The girls invited me to hit dinner with them with two new friends from Miami that they met at the pool. We then met up with Ana (who is also a fashion blogger… small world!) and her high school BF Katie. Katie brought her sweet baby Vienna (I hope I spelled it right). We hit the hot spot Trio and had great girls talk at the table.

Such an amazing day with great friends and new friends! Isn’t that what life is all about.

Color Blocked.

This was the last look Nicole collaborated on at The Saguaro. This time we utilized the color walls for great color blocked shots. When we were brainstorming this look, we both found shots against the colorful walls and just knew that had to be a backdrop.

I styled my color block look with a turquoise and white hounds tooth jumpsuit by Michael Kors. The print of the jumpsuit played well in contrast to the wall and helped me still pop against it. I kept my look retro with my oversized pearl necklace and Louis Vuitton wedges.

Nicole styled herself with this boho chic look. She wore a printed tribal maxi from Forever21 with a Michael Koru belt. Then coordinated her accessories with a brown clutch and wedges. I loved how our looks differed, but it showed our personal style.

We had lots of fun shooting on various hotel balconies… hopefully no one were in the rooms while we were shooting. If they were, I’m sure they had fun watching us.

Nicole had a gorgeous boho chic look with her maxi dress and wedges.

Because i’m happy…

Why am i happy? I’m on day 5 of my jucing challenge with my mom and i’m still going strong. The past few days have been very tough & i’ve relized that it’s best for the first week to add one small meal in. But today I feel amazing!!
I think my oufit definitely shows with the new Ralph lauren sweater my mom found for $25 and i layered my chambray button up underneath. Since the polo man on the sweater is purple, i paired it with my silk Kate Spade skirt…
I had bryce shoot my look and we had fun with lots of candids..

Route 84

I purchased this adorable sequin jersey tank from Forever21 and haven’t wore it. I saw it hanging in the closet and just knew I had to throw it on! I styled it to dress it up since it is a tank. Even though sequins don’t really need much dressing up…
I keep the look very simple with jeans a black leather jacket. I chose my black patent pumps to keep it classic! I was Christmas shopping for my coworkers and lucked upon this silver sequin clutch at Target for $10….yes, TEN DOLLARS! I intented on giving it as gift and then decided I couldn’t let it go…lol

Put your freekum dress on!

Since I’ve become more social and have been invited to more outings, I’ve realized I have no “hoochie” “go out freekum” dresses… On a recent trip to forever21, i picked up a few good night out looks and this grey dress was one of them. I wore this out this past saturday and i just love the sheer panel on top and how well it fits through out!
Since it was fairly cold I styled my look with the faux fur vest that I bought in NYC. Keep the shoes neutral with my Jeffrey Campbell wedges and gold Louis Vuitton pochette.

Typed Up!

I haven’t put up a style cap in very long so I took a quick snap of a look before I headed to a meeting this week.

8 days to Valentines Day: Fashion Countdown!

Now is the time to get your look together for your hot date next week! For the next eight days, I will chose a store and style an entire look from there. Today’s choice is: CUSP! I personally love the edgy and fashion forward pieces CUSP always has. CUSP is definitely for the girl who has her head in a fashion magazine all the time and who’s dream date is to a very swanky restaurant.

Here are my picks:

BCBGMAXAZRIA Fitted Colobrlock Dress: $228

Rachel Zoe ‘Evelyn’ Degrade-Heeled Sandal: $395

DVF ‘Carolina Lips Clutch’: $345

Dogeared ‘Gold Heart’ Earrings: $40

Style Cap: Head over heels with "Over the Knee" socks

I recently purchased this pair of “Over the Knee” socks to wear with boots for this fall and winter. Being the fashionista on a budget that I am, I purchased these at work with 40% (for employees.) GO ME!

I went for a very Katholic Kouture look. Rebellious, yet still conservative. For once, I was very minimal with my accessories since I was going to work. This outfit was really my intro into the fall, because we’ve had about 2 cold days in Atlanta. So I took total advantage!

The boot sock is a great way to be able to show your legs a little in the fall, while still having them covered so your not freezing.

Look of the day: Fashionista on a
budget edition!!
It has been forever since I have done a “Look of the day” post.

This past memorial day weekend my family went out to go shopping. While all the kids and my parents made a trip to Old Navy, I slipped into the nearby Nordstrom Rack to see if there were any good finds. Well… I found this Necessary Objects blazer for $19.97 (not including my discount!). I had looked at the blazer when it was in our store full price, so to see it for 19 dollars made my day!
Blazer: Nordstrom Rack

Shorts: Nordstrom… on sale!
Shoes: Converse
Accessories: Nordstrom
Does anyone else notice a problem with where I am shopping???
Style Cap: Lisa Flynn
So this is my customer Lisa who is absolutely ADORABLE. She always reminds of an OC Housewife.
I saw her at work on Saturday and as you can see, I had to use her for my style cap.

Her cardigan is from the Nordstrom BP department, the rest of the outfit is from “Private Gallery” in Alpharetta, GA. Super cute. Go see the manager Jo if you go to Private Gallery, they always dress Lisa there. Their obviously doing a good job.

Had to do close up’s of the accessories, especially that purse. I loved it. It was the perfect little size and can definitely be dressed up & down.

When I asked what was the inspiration for her look.. she said that she wanted to bring in spring & be “sunshiney” with the bright colors. Well you definitely achieved your goal, girl!
Thanks Lisa!
