my bnp experience

so last week, a client at my job offered me & a few of the other girls tickets to the bnp paribas tennis tournament. the tournament is like the us open on the west coast and is palm desert for two weeks! so yeah…it’s a bic deal! after i recieved fhe tickets my next thought was…what am i going to wear?

i ended up choosing my kate spade cory dress and i paired it again with my denim jacket and opted for my kate spade fab jelly sandals. it was a nice mix of dressy and casual. i brought my parents & my brother raylee to the night matches and we ended viewing two watches.

both were womens qualifying matches! it was so exciting watching my brother really get into the sport.

(Between matches i snagged myself a pina colada!)

thanks to anne at tennis for tours for our tickets!!

rock the runway: styled by me!

last week, the westfield mall and desert models agency held the “rock the runway” modeling competition. various models and “soon-to-be models” wear styles picked from businesses within the mall and compete for a modeling contract!
since brittyn is already signed to desert models she was asked to participate in the fashion show and at random was selected to model from the store that i work, crazy 8!

i took advantage of the opportunity and put on my stylist hat! after selecting brittyn’s look, i added my sister brieonni and my brother raylee into the show! let’s call it a family affair. our neighbor also modeled in the fashion show so she was styled by me as well!

can i take your picture?: alex

while on el paseo today, i spotted this boho chic fashionista and instantly knew she had to be on the blog. she exuded the spirit of a socal girl with her free people “duster” that covered her white tank and jean shorts, and to top her look off she threw on a red floppy fedora. she showed her personal style off while remaining simplistic with minimal pieces.

alex themm is a young model from the o.c. who was visiting the coachella valley with her mom and two friends. if you can’t tell already… alex is a young supermodel in the making!

4th of july!

This year for the 4th of july, my family and i attended the palm desert fireworks celebration! it was an event in our civic center park with a swing band playing until the big fireworks show.

we parked at a nearby shopping center and took air conditioned shuttles to the park… so fancy!
My mom shaved the side of Brandy’s hair… it’s sooo cute!

We got a great spot right on the water!

We enjoyed the day exploring the park and enjoying the festivities. then it was time for the fireworks show!!

happy independence day!

off i go!

i have some exciting news! i have FINALLY made a date to make the big move to nyc. for all my followers that have been readers from the beginning, you know my biggest dream has been to move to nyc. (it seems to be everyone’s dream, right?) well, i’m ready to really begin a career in fashion! i plan to move this october…right before my 22nd birthday. and i will definitely keep everyone updated on my big move! 🙂

mismatched & mixed prints!

last week, i had my first conference call as a shop stylist. so i had to go into work for the call. i wanted to still look fashionable, during the call. i wanted to mix prints with my black & white polka dot jeans with my windowpane print top from kate spade. i love the contrast on the prints together. this look resembles somewhat of a look that solange knowles would wear.

it’s spring time…now it’s time to bring back the dookie braids. if you don’t remember, i had the hairstyle about two years ago. how do you like it in the bun style this time around?
(i used the word time a lot, right?)
well i had my floorset at work and check out my look.

what’s your dream closet?

this past week, the kate spade store that i work at had the opportunity to be apart of the “bighorn home tours”. now bighorn is a very affluential private community that annually has a home tour event to preview the new available homes to women in the community. many local businesses help stage the homes with their product show the ladies and shop for homes & for themselves.
we were lucky enough to participate this year and we received the closet space of one of the homes. we made our closet into the dream kate spade closet. take a look at more pictures below:

we also had a picnic set up outside!

lace & wedges!

for tachevah, i wanted to wear this green lace top of my sisters that i haven’t had a chance to wear yet. since were already at 90 degrees here in the desert i just knew it would be hot. so i paired the lace top with the denim shorts that i made during my first diy project. then i added my navy target wedges with green detailing.
