a day with the girls!

After a long day at work, my blogger bff Nicole sent me the best text ever “come meet us at the pool”. I was so happy and immediately headed home to change and head to The Riviera.

I met up with Nicole and her friend Chasity at the pool. The pool had fun music and everyone there looked like they were having the time of their lives.

Yes, sometimes I do selfie. Especially when I have gorgeous friends.

After some great pool vibes, I had to check out the gorgeous room Nicole and Chas were staying in for the weekend.

I was obsessed with the décor of the room and how much The Riviera has changed. I remember visiting Palm Springs as a kid and it was so outdated. They’ve made it fit perfectly with the midcentury theme of the desert.

The girls invited me to hit dinner with them with two new friends from Miami that they met at the pool. We then met up with Ana (who is also a fashion blogger… small world!) and her high school BF Katie. Katie brought her sweet baby Vienna (I hope I spelled it right). We hit the hot spot Trio and had great girls talk at the table.

Such an amazing day with great friends and new friends! Isn’t that what life is all about.

Happy Fourth of July!

Hey everyone! I hope your enjoying your day of family, friends, and fireworks. I am currently at work, but ready to hit the pool once I’m off. What is everyone’s fashion choices today?

Color Blocked.

This was the last look Nicole collaborated on at The Saguaro. This time we utilized the color walls for great color blocked shots. When we were brainstorming this look, we both found shots against the colorful walls and just knew that had to be a backdrop.

I styled my color block look with a turquoise and white hounds tooth jumpsuit by Michael Kors. The print of the jumpsuit played well in contrast to the wall and helped me still pop against it. I kept my look retro with my oversized pearl necklace and Louis Vuitton wedges.

Nicole styled herself with this boho chic look. She wore a printed tribal maxi from Forever21 with a Michael Koru belt. Then coordinated her accessories with a brown clutch and wedges. I loved how our looks differed, but it showed our personal style.

We had lots of fun shooting on various hotel balconies… hopefully no one were in the rooms while we were shooting. If they were, I’m sure they had fun watching us.

Nicole had a gorgeous boho chic look with her maxi dress and wedges.

Coachella Style

IMG_0593  In a little over a week, the coachella valley will be taken over with visitors for the coachella music festival. i was inspired by the festival to shoot my coachella style looks. coachella, like many music festivals, brings the natural hippy out of everyone. girls come from all over in their shortest shorts and crop tops with sandals or boots to enjoy a great time.

IMG_0574 My look completely embodies the freedom of the desert. I started my look with my cuff dark denim shorts from Urban Outfitters. I bought them about 3 years ago for a kid cudi concert. I wanted to look coachella-ish..lol. I chose this ripped shirt for my top, because i love it! it’s always on the borderline of appropriate. If you look closely I do a shoe change during the shoot to give the look some versatility!

diy project: victorian to mid-century frame!

to fit the mid-century fit of my parents new home, my mom & i embarked on a diy project to spray paint the frame a glossy white color. my parents home has a sleek white base and the white frame keeps the aesthetic going.

red lip challenge: day two!

yes, i’m starting with day two….because, i forgot to shoot my look on day one. sorry!
here’s day two…
i was inspired by my black & white polka dot jeans and using them to keep my look neutral and let my red lip pop.

i paired my jeans with a white with black polka dot shirt from forever21 to contrast against the jeans. i typically have to have on a “third piece” at work so i add my purple kate spade cardigan.
i’m honestly loving the red lip this week and think i will continue to wear it in the future!

4th of july!

This year for the 4th of july, my family and i attended the palm desert fireworks celebration! it was an event in our civic center park with a swing band playing until the big fireworks show.

we parked at a nearby shopping center and took air conditioned shuttles to the park… so fancy!
My mom shaved the side of Brandy’s hair… it’s sooo cute!

We got a great spot right on the water!

We enjoyed the day exploring the park and enjoying the festivities. then it was time for the fireworks show!!

happy independence day!
