CoCo * Breezy bring classic 60’s to Essence Magazine

Accessory designers, Coco & Breezy, leave their hard, rock star style behind to bring classic 60’s looks to Essence Magazine. Since Tia & Tamara Mowry are on the cover, it’s only right to bring in another pair of twins into the issue.
What do you think of CoCo and Breezy’s looks in Essence?

ESPN Recreates Classic Albums with Athletes

For the music issue, ESPN enlisted various athletes to help recreate the album covers. I love that ESPN does a music issue to tie in athletes to their musical choices. Also, it’s nice to see athletes outside of their uniforms. Whoever the stylists was for the shoot did a fantastic job. The recreates look very accurate to the originals.

Solange in Glamour France speaks about her style..

Solange Knowles was featured in this month’s Glamour France in a fabolous photo shoot. Whoever styled this shoot was great.. They played on Solange’s known 60’s inspired style & added a little urban flare.

When asked about her personal style Solange said,” [My style is] very eclectic as I like to take risks, but I always cling to glamorous touches and classic details. I’m not necessarily inspired by magazines or fashion. I surf a lot on blogs and find it cool to see real style from real people. My travels also influence me. I always take lots of pictures, and then inject all those inspirations into my wardrobe, my home decor, or my makeup. And we can’t forget the icons: Diana Ross, Erykah Badu, Bjork, and Lauryn Hill.”

Nicki Minaj is pulling hair…

These are recent shots from a recent shoot Nicki Minaj did with Paper Magazine. She was definitely feeling her hair this shoot.

When asked about her style icons she stated, “Grace Jones definitely. So amazing. And Cyndi Lauper, I loved her right from when I was a little girl. And Janet Jackson of course. And Boy George. I always loved the way he dressed, and his music too.”

Her icons show in her crazy looks!

BEHIND THE SCENES: Great Brittyn’s 4 photoshoot
Take a look at what it took to get the perfect shot for Brittyn’s 4 cover shot:
1. Find the look

We had to squeeze brittyn into a size 5T ballerina outfit from Target for the look.
We also had to get the flowers to add to the tutu
Next step is sewing the flowers on…

2. The hair
Brittyn had to be a real superstar & get a wig to get the right hairdo!
3. Practing the perfect shot

It took lots of practice & patience to capture the right shot.
Since she’s only 8, Brittyn has to sit on bow with two big pillows layered on top.
Meanwhile… I had to be the best big sister & lay on the bathroom floor to hold it up so she didn’t slip.

All the get the PERFECT Shot!
Credits need to be made to my mother for putting this whole project together!!
We are #winning!!
I previously posted this picture of “Great Brittyn” that we submitted to Ty Hunter’s (Beyonce’s stylist) contest for recreations of Beyonce’s album covers. Well, we & 3 other contestants were chosen by Ty & Beyonce herself!! It was a great honor to be chosen.

This photo collage was submitted by 16 year old Canadian, Kelsey. When asked why she chose the covers that she did she stated,

I tried to do the entire album to increase my chances of winning but I didn’t have a lot of the outfits so I did what I could & hard. ”

Kelsey’s favorite Beyonce song is Halo, but loves all the songs from her most recent album, 4.
This last submission is from Jovita. She chose these covers, because they were easiest for her to do and she loves everyone Beyonce song!
We had a great time entering into the contest.
Thanks Kelsey & Jovita!
