Rick Owens steps black girls into the heart of fashion!

Today Rick Owens surprised the  entire fashion world…well actually, the entire UNIVERSE with his incredible “fashion show” that was actually a performance of young black women (and some white women as well) having a step show. All regular, not model women modeling Rick Owens while performing a full routine!

BRAVO to Rick Owens to breaking barriers for african american women in fashion and also women who are not a size 00. Brown girls ran the runway and I’m so happy to capture many moments via instagram viewers who were attended the show! And stepping is a type of dance often done by college sororities and fraternities and no this is not TRIBAL DANCING OR VOODOO…Sadly, I saw many negative comments in reference to the show and the “voodoo” being performed and the “tribal dancing”

Below are images from the show…Get your entire life:

The collection will be released to target stores in February. Prabal Gurung kept to his design aesthetic with his tailoring and feminine silhouettes. Iggy Azalea covers Nylon Mexico

The Australian rapper shows off her wonderful physique in very colorful and playful styles.

Navy blouse with the perfect slack.

Today, I had my follow up interview from earlier this week. I decided to bring my A Game to this interview. I hadn’t wore my teal Paige Denim slacks yet and this was the perfect opportunity. I didn’t have a top to wear it with so my mom took me to the mall & we browsed for a top. I went to get a manicure for my interview & my mom cruised through Forever21 for options. She found this really cute navy blouse with rhinestoned neckline & wrists. The quality of the blouse makes it look like it’s not from Forever21 and from a more higher classed retailer.

I feel i’m giving a classic, tailored color blocked look. The pants are THE perfect fit and that’s what made the look so great. They fit great in the legs and the length is wonderful. It resembles a 70’s wide leg pant.

Plus, they feel like butter on…. any opportunity I get. I will definitely be wearing these in the future.

Dolce & Gabbana Spring 2013 Collection: Racist?

In this Spring’s collection, Dolce & Gabbana chose to not only have NO diversity within the models of the show, but to also have racist notions through out the show. The whole collection was somewhat tribal themed, but certain pieces stood out amongst others.

For example, one model is wearing earrings that resemble a slave-like illustration of an African American woman. Also, the same image of the woman is splashed on a burlap-sack dress and another printed dress.

According to the Huffington Post, “The images are known as Blackamoors — of black people dressed lavishly in turbans and jewels are largely considered collectable art, they can also be very offensive. No matter how beautiful they are, the figures still represent slavery. With that said, are you offended by D&G’s use of Blackamoors? ”

Emmy’s 2012 Red Carpet

This year all the Hollywood TV’s stars brought their fashion ‘A Game’ to the red carpet. Overall, I was pleased by the variety of styles and colors brought this year. To showcase the looks better, I placed them in categories.

Shimmer & Shine

Sunny Bright

50 Shades of Blue

Vamp Hollywood

My favorite look of this year was Julianne Moore. I loved the style of her dress and the fit on her body. The color plays off her skin and hair color very well.
