With this new year, I want to evolve my style! I think this year is the year of the essentials. I only plan on only investing in the fashion essentials that have quality!
for my trip to santa monica, i wanted to wear something light and summer-y. (yes, i know that’s not a real word.) the night before, i made a quick trip to target and found these black & white polka dot pants. i love how they have a wide leg to them and are perfect for summer.
I bought this great printed skirt from our local Kate Spade Outlet about a month ago. I wanted to perfect moment to wear and decided to finally wear it on Saturday. I love the print on the skirt and the skirt is 100% silk. I thought the chambray shirt brought another texture and didn’t make the skirt as dressed up.
I’m still getting the hang of use the self timer and tripod, so the pictures will only get better from here! lol
‘Tis the day for a Christmas Sweater. I bought this sweater last year at goodwill and didn’t get a chance to wear so I decided to this past Saturday at work. It was my last day working before Christmas and wanted to come in the holiday spirit!
I kept things pretty simple on Friday when we were looking for our christmas tree & decorating it. A white t shirt and jeans is always a classic and simple look, which is why I paired it with my Nike Griffeys.
(My sister Brieonni was trying to run through my picture!)

During the holidays, the time shared with family and the presents are the most important factors. Just important are the pajamas you wear on Christmas, because you are being photographed and you have to always look like you just rolled out of bed….in chic and fun pajamas.
Here are a few styles that are comfy, chic, and fun pajamas styles:
Steve Madden ‘Cozy Up’ Thermal PJ’S: $58
Thermals are always comfortable and if you are in a cold area you can still use them underneath your clothing.
Nick & Nora Footie Pajamas: $24.99
I love one piece footie pajamas! They are so fun and make you feel like a kid again…one problem is that you can get really hot in them during the night.
Victoria’s Secret Flannel Pajamas: $39.50
Flannel Pajamas are always a classic style. And to add extra fun, you can always add a fun printed tank top under your flannel shirt and leave it unbuttoned.
This Christmas we brought a real tree from a family from Oregon who sells trees. They grow the trees all year in Oregon, then travel to Palm Desert to sell them. Since they were family grown, we were glad we could help them out.
They even had some sprayed white, incase you want a white christmas.
After we got the tree tied up to the Hummer, we brought it home and then it was time to decorate!
The theme for this years tree was to have a color blocked tree. My mother and I wanted to tie fashion into our tree. We decided to make the tree on trend with color block and found these great ornaments from Target.
Only problem is, we had to tie the hook on every ornament. Which took up a substantial amount of time…. We ended up making another trip to Target to buy hooks.
Then came the fun part…. the DECORATING! First, we had to string all of the lights.
Then came the ornaments, we started with red.
Next, the pink ornaments.
Then came the purple ornaments.
After purple, came blue.
Last, we added the green ornaments on the bottom.
For Thanksgiving we travleled down to San Diego to my Grand dad’s house. Well you know we had to travel in style and this year we took inspiration from fashion house Margiela.
I thought it would be fairly easy to style leather, edgy looks but in the desert (where it’s still 75 degrees) it became a challenge. We wanted to keep everyone fairly in unison with some form of “leather” in everyone’s look.
(starting from the left):
-mom: black tunic & leather leggings
-Brittyn and Brieonni:
Rock & Republic sweaters, which Brittyn wore as tunic with leather leggings from Target and Doc Martin look alikes. While, Brieonni wore the sweater tucked into a Hello Kitty leather skirt from Target and Nine West combat boots.
Bryce: Grey pull over sweater and leather pleated skirt with leather boots.
Brandy: BCBG dress with gunmetal Guess denim jacket and Doc Martens.
Raylee: Skull sweater and LEI skinny jeans with skull vans.
Me: ‘Paris’ blouse from Target with leather leggings from Karna Zabete for Target and cognac boots.
I think everyone was styled to perfection!
(The neighborhood cat wanted to be apart of the picture!)
I started my seasonal position at Kate Spade and I have been trying to really become a Kate Spade girl with my style. I don’t own any skirts (weird, i know!) so I tried on my sisters skirt from the Target kids department. I tried it on with a long shot and it actually fit!
I paired the patterned with a chambray and bright jewelry to tie in with the skirt. To keep the shoes neutral, I wore my black Sam Edelman flats. I thought the look fit in with Kate Spade’s love for color and girly fashion.
