Which is how I am keeping this post! I was feeling my girly biker babe look today and had my coworker snap a few shots of my look before we left. I wasn’t really inspired for today’s look and actually tried on about 3 different looks before throwing on my pink heart forever 21 sweater. To really give it that “Kate Spade”element, I added my sisters polka dot peter pan collar top underneath for layering. For the bottoms I still wasn’t sure where I wanted to go until my Kirna Zabete leather leggings caught my eye.

Shorts in the winter are always a tricky fashion choice. You have to handle the outfit with lots of care so it looks cohesive. You never want to look like that stereotypical girl with cut off shorts & uggs….
I tried this look out this past week for work. I recently purchased these black corduroy shorts from my job and wanted a nice professional look. So I paired the shorts with a white button and a houndstooth patterned blazer.
How do you think I did?
This past weekend, We had a special employee shopping day where we got 30% off all of our purchases. I definitely used it to my advantage… I purchased lots of great classic pieces to add to my wardrobe.
1 & 2- Nike plaid print running short & yoga capris. Both pieces were on sale and were definitely needed for working out & going to yoga.
3- Kate Spade ‘Nellie’ Dress. This was the puchased tht I had to really think about being that the dress was $395, even though I did have my 30%. I never had spent tht much a dress before, but the quality of the dress was so nice that it would be a wonderful investment.
4- Frenchi Peter Pan Blouse. This shirt was giving me such a Chanel feel.. I couldn’t resist purchasing it. I’m thinking about purchasing a second shirt.
I also purchased a pair of black slacks, the camel colored skirt that was featured in my last style cap, & the matching nike sports tank top to my shorts & capris.
I can’t even remember the last time I wore a skirt… lol.
I purchased this skirt from my job this past Saturday. I really want my style to become more clean, classic, & filled quality. Meaning no more big purchases from Forever 21…. Now it’s more about the quality of the clothing.
The look was aimed to be a smooth, almost seventies inspired…..how do you think I did?

To recap from the first post, I am currently trying to “recreate” this pair of black studded boots I spotted on a girl.
Here are the original boots:
On Sunday, Tee (the coworker that was with me when I saw the boots) had to go to Nine West for boots for herself and came back with good news. She found black boots for me and on top of that Nine West was doing a “Family & Friends” 25% off special on all of their shoes in store.
When I was able to go on my break I went straight to Nine West and saw these beauties…
The perfect boot, right? The boot was originally $179… then it had an 50% sticker.. and the additional 25% off. Adding up the a grand total to about 69 dollars with tax.
You can’t tell me i’m not a fashionista on a budget! 🙂
This project is starting off in the right direction. Now I’m just working on find the right studs & spikes to order for the boots. I’ll update with more information soon! 🙂
I have decided to start doing a few “diary” type entries that are more personal…
Now knowing myself I most likely wont be consistent with a weekly post, but I will put one up when I feel necessary. So don’t look back every week for a personal & be disappointed. Kidddinggg!
This first entry is on a personal DIY project I will do….
After work, I was walking into TJ Maxx with one of my coworkers and walked past a girl with the CUTEST boots on. So mid sentence, I cut off my coworker & ask her where she got her boots. She tells us that she got them in a boutique near little five points. (Which means they were probably over priced!)
I ask her if I can take a picture of the boots & my coworker asks,” Is this for your blog?” That’s how much I take pictures or have them take pictures of me for it… Sad, I know.
Anywho, These are the boots and I think I can do these myself!
First on my list is to find a fold over black timberland type boot. That shouldn’t be THAT hard. I’ll browse my usual spots F21, Charlotte Russe, etc. I want to find boots that I actually like, but don’t want to spend 100,0000,000,000,000 dollars. (You know I am always a fashionista on a budget!!!!!!)
Next, I am going to figure out what type of studs or stones I want on the boots. Also, the best way to keep them secure!
If anyone has any suggestions, please comment & let me know! 🙂
Until next…. xoxo TFF —if you watch gossip girl you would semi understand that. LOL
As much as I love a deal, Black Friday is on one day I try to do NO shopping. This year, I did my shopping online to physically avoid all of the crazy shoppers. My total purchase was $112.00 (that includes tax).
Here’s a break down of what I purchased:
4 knit hats that were 2 for 10!
2 crewneck sweaters that were 2 for 14!
A khaki & olive pair of my favorite work pants that were on sale for $22, even bought a pair for my mom!
I feel I purchased lots of basics for work & everyday wear. Hope everyone had a successful & safe black friday!
Yes, i know this is hard to believe. I, Brooke Butler, wore… (somewhat of) a knockoff! *gasssssspppppp!*
I saw this very cute scull scarf in the juniors department at my job. At my first thought was this looks very similar to the Alexander McQueen scarfs, but didn’t think about it again. About two days later, I decided to go for a “punk” look and added the scarf in my look. I even brought out my old hot topic bracelets. (I went through a stage in middle school.)
Top- Men’s Forever21
Shoes- There actually my sister, Bryce’s… I believe their from Nordstrom Rack
Accessories- Nordstrom & Hot Topic
Here is the original A. McQueen scarf….
Comment & tell me if my Fashion Faux Pas was THAT bad!
