The Day to Night Look!

DSC_0046 (3)

I have some very exciting news! I recently moved to a great position at….TRINA TURK! Yes, it was a very unexpected move and I am so happy! I have been welcomed with open arms and I’m happy to be apart of the brand.

The Moss 2 Pant has become one of my favorite go-to pieces in the last few weeks. The fit is impeccable and the print is fantastic. You can style these so many different ways which definitely helps me. Since I work in Palm Springs, I often transition my work looks to go out for drinks… and such!

I styled my pants for a fun easy daytime look. I paired the Moss Pant with my Green Trina Turk sweater and denim slip on sneakers. Easy going for brunch on a Sunday before hitting the town.

Then to transition to night, I changed into my strappy Chinese Laundry  heels and I added my H&M leather jacket. Perfect for a chilly night!

My day in LA…

IMG_0639

A few weeks ago, my friend Courtney let me know she would be coming to LA from ATL. I haven’t seen Courtney since I’ve moved to Cali so I HAD to make the drive to LA for her.

Since I’m a few hours out, I have to trips to LA count for the full day. I decided to hit Santa Monica to enjoy a day of shopping and ocean view. I can’t remember that last time I saw the ocean…

I went a little crazy in Nordstrom, Victoria’s Secret, Zara, and so many other stores… it was a great day. I’ve been into a Nasty Gal boutique so I stopped in the one at the 3rd Street Promenade… It was an interesting.

IMG_6787

Nasty Gal boutiques are kind of what you expect. Semi-overpriced “vintage looking” pieces. They definitely cater to that rich girl in LA who likes that look.

IMG_6794

After shopping, I picked up Courtney and her friends Hira and Nabihah. We all squeezed into my tiny Fiat and headed to dinner. We found this awesome Mexican spot near their Air B n B. The food was so good that I couldn’t finish.

IMG_6793

After a margarita and a shot of Tequila… Tequila won! It was a great day in LA and I can’t wait to go back.

is it christmas…already?

DSC_0332

Who doesn’t love a day trip with the girls? I finally had a full day off to myself and decided to take a trip to Victoria gardens with some friends. Victoria Gardens is an outdoor shopping center and is absolutely gorgeous! It was so great to get out of the desert and I got to put my blue bombshell on the road.

DSC_0350DSC_0351

One thing that I noticed is that they were decked out in Christmas decorations. It is not even Thanksgiving…geeez. I work in retail and I love that I work for a company that doesn’t start decorations until after Thanksgiving. It’s a bit of overkill when I walk in the mall and there is Christmas music playing and fake snowflakes EVERYWHERE.

DSC_0325DSC_0324DSC_0327DSC_0326

It was overall a great day with my friends even though I lost my wallet in the desert that morning and had no money on me! Shout out to my girls that held me down!!!

Oh it’s Monday?

DSC_0173

That is my question when I open my eyes every Monday. I instantly get the Monday Blues and wish it was Friday already! There should be some type of medication to overcome the Monday Blues.

DSC_0203DSC_0216

How do overcome the Monday Blues?

DSC_0178

I feel that starting each week with goals helps me use Mondays as my starting point with achieving the goals and staying focused. I look at Monday is my day to refocus and remember what I hustle hard for.

A little Beyoncé (or future, if I’m feeling ratchet) always start my Monday right. I love music and this always affects my mood and energy.

Closet Confessions: Trina Turk

A few weeks ago, I had the amazing opportunity to style a closet for my mom’s open house event. Guess who sponsored the closet….TRINA FREAKIN’ TURK! I almost died when my mom told me the news, because you guys know I love Trina Turk.

DSC_0377

The team at Trina Turk were amazing and sent us samples from the newest Holiday collection, which, is AH-MAZING! The collection is the perfect mix of texture, print, & jumpsuits. You guys know I LIVE for a jumpsuit and Trina has a few that are to die for.

DSC_0303

I was able to style two closets in the home with the beautiful collections. I also styled a few full looks through out the bedrooms in the home as well. The party guests were in love with the closet and I had to keep an eye on a few of the ladies… haha

Thank you again for the Trina Turk team for the partner ship… Now I need to hit the Palm Springs location for some holiday pieces!

let’s fall into…fall!

DSC_0034

Yes, I said transition in the fall. Which is somewhat a joke right now in the desert, because it is literally still 90 degrees outside. I know it’s crazy!! Well in my head, I’m currently strolling down 5th avenue in brisk fall weather.

DSC_0025 dsc_0017

That’s why I am just styling myself for cooler weather, maybe mother nature will catch the hint. I recently shot with a new photographer, Miranda of Miranda Rose photography in Palm Springs and absolutely love the shots!!

DSC_0043 DSC_0044

My look was a little biker chic. I was inspired to pull out my black leather jacket from H&M. It is the perfect essential for fall & instead of a heavy jacket I still look stylish in it. I also had to break in my new black booties from Nordstrom Rack. They are the perfect low booties and so comfortable.

DSC_0092 DSC_0061

I can’t believe it’s already going to be November. This year is flying by and I’m still trying to catch from my birthday weekend. Haha (kidding… but not kidding)

Before we know it, it will Christmas then New Years….ahhhh!

my travel essentials.

four more days until my trip to san Francisco! I’m so excited and now the hard part… packing! Even if I’m leaving for the day, I take days to pack and reevaluate my looks. When I pack, I always have a list of my traveling essentials that I need no matter where I go.

DSC_0226

  1. My camera- this is THE MOST IMPORTANT item I bring on my trip. I love my Nikon, but on this trip I will be taking my sister’s Canon. It’s much more portable than mine and will fit in all the bags I am bringing with me.
  2. Glasses/ Glasses Case- This is fairly self explanatory. I use my case more when I travel to keep from safe.
  3. Book- I love to spend plane rides reading. Fashion books help inspire me. My latest read is, Blogging Your Way to The Front Way
  4. Fanny pack- Sometimes when we are walking to quick spots and I don’t want to carry my bag. My Forever21 fanny pack makes it easy to carry my small necessities around.
  5. Perfume (To Go)- a girl always has to smell good, right?
  6. Mint- Gotta keep my break so fresh and so clean, clean
  7. Charger
  8. Comfortable Shoes- We typically do lots of walking when we go travel and comfortable shoes are a MUST. I recently found these topshop sliders from Nordstrom Rack.
  9. Snacks- I love to make a stop to the dollar and stock up on sweet goodies
  10. Computer- well, I’m a blogger…I always have my computer handy.

What are your travel essentials?

Midweek Mediation.

DSC_0176Wednesdays are normally the best, because we’re so close to the weekend. working retail never really allows me to have true weekends. I live vicariously through all of you!

DSC_0188 DSC_0212

For me, it’s typically my day to regroup. I tend to get in the weekend mood and that is how I often miss my weekly goals.

DSC_0185 DSC_0184

Plus, I might be a chronic procrastinator. don’t judge y’all.

DSC_0180

This week I took a different method to my Wednesday and took time to practice some yoga and mediation. Yes, I’m a yogi on the side… like wayyyy on the side, I’ve been in months.

DSC_0193

And since I haven’t been in awhile, so my form is not the best, but it always makes my body feel amazing afterwards.

#trappedntravel : where to next?

as many of you remember, my sisters and I traveled to Tokyo last July for almost a week. It was an amazing trip and we now want to make it a staple to take a trip every summer. This year we chose a domestic location, but it’s a new city we’ve never been to.

My next step is to pack which is a task of it’s own.

Told ya I caught the travel bug! Can you guess our next destination?

san-francisco-plaza-alamo

Styled for Spencer!

It’s nice to enjoy my days off styled how I like. I knew we would be heading out for lunch today and I wanted to keep my look spring chic. My mother owns this Alberto Mikali top at Nordstrom Rack awhile back. I knew I wanted to match my look around these new Sam Edelman gladiators.

DSC_0323 DSC_0324

My Alberto Makali top was a perfect match to the gladiators and my yellow shorts brought the entire look together.

DSC_0333 DSC_0339

When I originally picked out my look, I paired the top with white denim and was told that I looked like a Orange County Housewives. I had to improvise the look keep it to my age group. Lol.
