Spring has Sprung!

Can you believe Spring is already here? We only got about 2 weeks of Winter here, so I’m pretty bummed that the temperature is already near the 90s. #hellonearth

With Spring comes spring trends… what are your favs and which do you hate?

To Quote my fairy god mother (in my head) Miranda Prieslwy, “Florals? For Spring”… Groundbreaking.”

Although I (clearly) wear floral prints, they aren’t always my favorite since it’s so easy to just pull out anything floral. I think going forward I’ll be definitely mixing my prints and making my floral print not so typical.

Based off what I saw during Fashion Week, I can’t wait to see the hot trends that arrive this year.

The Day to Night Look!

DSC_0046 (3)

I have some very exciting news! I recently moved to a great position at….TRINA TURK! Yes, it was a very unexpected move and I am so happy! I have been welcomed with open arms and I’m happy to be apart of the brand.

The Moss 2 Pant has become one of my favorite go-to pieces in the last few weeks. The fit is impeccable and the print is fantastic. You can style these so many different ways which definitely helps me. Since I work in Palm Springs, I often transition my work looks to go out for drinks… and such!

I styled my pants for a fun easy daytime look. I paired the Moss Pant with my Green Trina Turk sweater and denim slip on sneakers. Easy going for brunch on a Sunday before hitting the town.

Then to transition to night, I changed into my strappy Chinese Laundry  heels and I added my H&M leather jacket. Perfect for a chilly night!

Can bloggers have fashion fails?

Sometimes when I shoot for the blog I have impromtu looks that I “know” will work in my head.

Thankfully, I know my body and style so my looks typically work. I’ve been sitting on this post for about a month, because when I saw the pictures…i wanted to run to the gym!

My concept was a winter pocho w/ bootie look. Well I should’ve known that poncho was tough, because when you aren’t a size 2 ponchos sometimes make you look bigger. They sometimes can lay well and other times… they expand you another 3 sizes. Yikes, right?

While not every shot looks bad…This was a blogger fail and I definitely own it. #onlylooksformybody

My style tip for women with my body shape would be: Wear pieces that are more fitted to your body. That typically slim me out and are still flattering. Just don’t forget those spanx ladies! 🙂

let’s fall into…fall!

Yes, I said transition in the fall. Which is somewhat a joke right now in the desert, because it is literally still 90 degrees outside. I know it’s crazy!! Well in my head, I’m currently strolling down 5th avenue in brisk fall weather.

That’s why I am just styling myself for cooler weather, maybe mother nature will catch the hint. I recently shot with a new photographer, Miranda of Miranda Rose photography in Palm Springs and absolutely love the shots!!

My look was a little biker chic. I was inspired to pull out my black leather jacket from H&M. It is the perfect essential for fall & instead of a heavy jacket I still look stylish in it. I also had to break in my new black booties from Nordstrom Rack. They are the perfect low booties and so comfortable.

I can’t believe it’s already going to be November. This year is flying by and I’m still trying to catch from my birthday weekend. Haha (kidding… but not kidding)

Before we know it, it will Christmas then New Years….ahhhh!

Feeling Godly

So in the previous post, I shared my all white look with Niki. We did take solo shots and I wouldn’t be the narcissist I am if I didn’t post them.

My look was styled around my white skinny jeans. I can’t remember the last time I wore white jeans… I’m lying! I had a pair in middle school from that store from Gadzooks… does anyone remember that store? Okay… that was very off topic!

I was a tad bit “unprepared” and went to search for a top today of the shoot. I went to my local Forever21 and found these white mesh top. I loved it because it was see through without looking tasteless. I will definitely be wearing it through out the summer.

You know I love, love, love COLOR so I couldn’t let this look be head to toe white. I added my pop of color with my Prabal Gurung heels.

Since the heels have every color on them, I can accessorize this look any way I want to. I actually decided to minimize my accessories for this look to keep it clean and sleek.
This look was out of my normal style and I really loved it. What do you think of my look?

vested up!

today we recovering from a small earthquake this morning and this major monsoon we’ve had these past two days. for the desert that’s actually half an inch of rain. #caliwinters

since the weather is still a little drabby, i decided to bring out my faux far vest. the weather doesn’t get that cold here so I rarely bring out my vests.

i also had my final presentation in my Radio & TV Writing class so I wanted to feel cute during my presentation. When you feel cute you do everything better, right? That’s always been a philosophy my mom taught me.

when you here something moving in the bushes next to you, but you don’t want to miss the shot!

this looks like a high school picture!

i’m always exploring when I shoot! I found this beautiful spot near the local library that gives the best of both worlds. you get the desert landscape while having water behind you.  DSC_0014 DSC_0016 DSC_0018 DSC_0019 DSC_0028 DSC_0029 DSC_0030 DSC_0033Dress: H&M

Coffee & Cardigans!

Nothing is better than having a morning coffee date with friends, right? Especially when your friends are super fashionable. Nikki and I met up in Palm Springs for coffee, which obviously turned into a photoshoot! IMG_2865 IMG_2880

We were really deep in conversation and can’t let go of our coffee!

Lips & Louis!

I have decided that I am started my clothing transition into fall, even if the desert temperatures don’t want to change yet. I refuse to wait until december to wear layers and boots. DSC_0060I love the sweatshirt trend that has started this fall. I can pull out all of my “running to the store” sweatshirts and make them chic. Shhh…don’t tell my mom! She hates my sweaters. I believe this sequined lips themed pull over was a gift for my sister. I snatched it today for a traditionally chic look.

DSC_0052 DSC_0053 DSC_0050 DSC_0054

I layered the sweater with my silk blouse and favorite skinnies from Nordstrom. I wore the look to school then had to dress it up for another occasion. To elevate my look, I added a Louis Vuitton silver pochette and my Prabal Gurung for Target pumps. DSC_0047 DSC_0058 DSC_0062 DSC_0065 DSC_0064

Shine bright like a diamond..dress!

I always show my daytime looks, but never get a chance to show what i wear out on the town. Okay..I really only go to one place when i’m out, but still. #smalltownproblems

DSC_0043 DSC_0046_2 I recently bought this diamond print topshop dress from Nordstrom Rack and it is perfect for a night out with the girls. The material is very comfortable and light. The front zipper really attracted me to the dress. It made it different and had many people asking who my dress was by. DSC_0047_2 DSC_0048_2 DSC_0052 DSC_0053 DSC_0054 DSC_0056

Topshop is one of my favorite collections to shop at Nordstrom, because I can try it right on there. No guestimating sizes online and hoping they work. Topshop has so many great styles and have a great price point. DSC_0057 DSC_0058 DSC_0062 DSC_0051 DSC_0064Dress: Topshop

Checkered Away!

Don’t you love when you see your best friend and they have a really cute look on and you can’t wait to borrow a piece for yourself? That’s how I feel whenever I see my mom with a new outfit….instant look for me! A few days ago, she wore this adorable checkered skirt from Forever21 and I had to snag it when I saw it on her!
DSC_0046Today I had a morning class and then a night class, so I wanted to make my look cute for the whole day. (Incase I ran into anyone I saw in the morning!) Also, I don’t want to go to elaborate because I do have to run errands and such between classes. Which is why I made the skirt sporty with the black slip on sneakers that I recently got from Macy’s.

DSC_0047While my sister was playing around with the camera I had a lip gloss retouch and snapped a few selfies that she caught me in the act of!
