Christmas PJ Party!

DSC_0037

With this time of year normally crazy for everyone, it’s nice to remember to take time for yourself and enjoy the day. That’s exactly what I did with Nicole (my blogger BFF) today. Being that we both work in retail, we try to stay stress free this time of year. I was so happy when Nicole suggested that we have a Christmas PJ Party to catch up and finish wrapping gifts.

Not only was the idea great, but so were our PJ’s. We both bought the same flannel romper from Nordstrom Rack in different prints. How crazy is that?

Well we had a great time! We had eggnog while we had girl talk and did a small gift exchange.

Oh and we had a fun pillow fight…it was so funny that we ended up in full on laughter.

Such a fun relief right before christmas. I might need to plan this out again for next year with Nicole.

how to conquer finals fashionably

To all my college students, it’s that dreaded time of year…FINALS! It is that week you fear all semester, but no worries we will conquer these finals and enjoy the holiday season.

I love positive reinforcements and I believe seeing those messages help keep my mood great. My three essentials to conquer the finals are:

  • Coffee (hot chocolate for me) in your cutest mug to remind you how great you are!
  • Study, Study, Study! Nordstrom Rack has an adorable collection of notebooks with positive quotes and cute sketches.
  • Stay comfy! It’s time to bring out those comfortable Victoria’s secret sweats and your fab slippers. I just picked up these glitter slippers from Nordstrom Rack.

Happy September! Can you guys believe it’s already September…I still think it’s March! Haha

DSC_0239 DSC_0274

Well September brings school back into my life. With so much more time invested in work, I will definitely have to stay focused on school to stay on track. I’m always to start a new school year with more knowledge.

DSC_0254

Today was the second day of classes and I’m really to keep up some cute, yet easy looks since I have a full day of classes. I found this mustard colored skirt by Free People at my job a few weeks ago.

DSC_0244

This type of draped skirt is really in trend and I’ve seen on it Instagram on bloggers and “Instagram famous” people. Is that really a thing? Yeah, I guess it is. Ugh.

DSC_0246 DSC_0245

I always have the problem¬† of having really cute bottoms, but I always lack in the tops to go with the look. I kept the look fairly simple with a white tank and white boyfriend sweater over it. I would’ve preferred if the cardigan wasn’t as long, but it’s all I had.

I added my favorite wedges to add more sensual effect to the look. How’d I do?

And hello to anyone from my speech class who is checking out the blog! ūüôā

rain rain go away…

Today was a rare day in desert weather..it rained!¬†Which, honestly, is my least¬†favorite weather. I hate being wet and the nasty clouds rain brings.¬†I also have the¬†“I don’t want to get my hair wet” mainframe. #blackgirlproblems ¬† DSC_0261

The rain messed up the shoot I had planned for the blog, but it did force me to actually relax on my full day off. I needed to run a few errands and since all my rain boots are in storage, I had to suffice for this rainy weather. I bought these new booties from the Nordstrom site, Haute Look earlier this week. I have been on the search for a pair of brown booties since Coachella and how nice….I found these a month later! And you won’t guess how much they were $22!

DSC_0252 DSC_0251

I like to multi task¬†during shoots… I was recording my sister ¬†on snapshot complain about having to stand in the rain. Boo Hoo.. sacrifice… sacrifice! Follow me on snapshot @trappednfashion

I caught this awesome shots of the foggy mountains behind our house. How random is that… fog in the desert? It looks great though.

got a bad b*tch, she’s a masterpiece…

when Rick Ross said that line, i’m pretty ¬†sure he was talking to me! actually i just thought that was a clever title next to the ART SIGN.¬†DSC_0171 DSC_0148

This awesome ART sign is in front of the Art building at College of the Desert. The college I currently attend! The art building is one of my favorite structures, because it is so sleek and simple. as I was parking for class, I just knew I had to snap a picture there today.

the spring semester is almost over…one more week! I have finals on Tuesday and i’m so happy! this semester I took Intro to Mass Media, Psychology, & History of Film Music. Today I presented my final project for Mass Media, which was on How Social Media changed the Fashion Industry… yes, everything is fashion related! it went very well and if I can i’ll put my power point up on the blog. my presentation turned into a whole discussion on the trapped fashionista… so hey classmates! ūüôā DSC_0199 DSC_0151 DSC_0196 DSC_0189 DSC_0190

the sunglasses I bought on a recently bought on a recent trip to the Montclaire Nordstrom store. It was the last pair and I am completely obsessed with them. I think I have been wearing them at least twice a week. (say hey to my sister brandy’s reflection)

Uptown Funk!

‘Tis the season for holiday parties! I have another holiday party to attend tonight and this beautiful sequin dress from Nordstrom Rack might have to be the winner. We are going to a casino, so I don’t want to overdress, but I can’t resist wearing this! What do you think?

FullSizeRender-1Should I be #teamoverdressed or #teamunderdressed???

When life gives you lemons…

DSC_0079
Shhh…it’s a secret!
DSC_0076
How elegant in this house…and me!

..sneak in front of your neighbors house to take your pictures. There is a fantastic home in my neighborhood with this beautiful grass arch that i always drive by and lust after. I didn’t want to walk all the way so I took my shots outside their main gate.¬† DSC_0077My look for today was inspired by the lemon-y goodness of Kate Spade. I’ve had my lemon printed keds for a few months, but recently acquired the lemon charm necklace and the “when life gives you lemons” pouch. With the shades of yellow and green, I thought the green arch was the perfect background!
