Spring has Sprung!

Can you believe Spring is already here? We only got about 2 weeks of Winter here, so I’m pretty bummed that the temperature is already near the 90s. #hellonearth

With Spring comes spring trends… what are your favs and which do you hate?

To Quote my fairy god mother (in my head) Miranda Prieslwy, “Florals? For Spring”… Groundbreaking.”

Although I (clearly) wear floral prints, they aren’t always my favorite since it’s so easy to just pull out anything floral. I think going forward I’ll be definitely mixing my prints and making my floral print not so typical.

Based off what I saw during Fashion Week, I can’t wait to see the hot trends that arrive this year.

Coachella State of Mind

It may still be February (for another week), but my mind is already in April. Coachella is right around the corner and this year I want to be prepared… fashion wise! Last year, I waited to the last moment to shop for my looks and it was a bit stressful. Nothing is worst than being at the mall before it closes the week of Coachella. Plus, everything is gone in your size at that point. My blogger beastie, Niki, has me motivated to shop my looks since she is done with her Coachella shopping.

Also, I’m taking a different direction style wise. Instead of the typical bohemian looks, I’ve been really inspired by the Afropunk musical festival. The festival goers use a mix of modern urban style with traditional African prints and textiles. Maybe I’ve been inspired by formation, but I am really feeling that this year. #Blackgirlmagic #getinformation

The Day to Night Look!

DSC_0046 (3)

I have some very exciting news! I recently moved to a great position at….TRINA TURK! Yes, it was a very unexpected move and I am so happy! I have been welcomed with open arms and I’m happy to be apart of the brand.

The Moss 2 Pant has become one of my favorite go-to pieces in the last few weeks. The fit is impeccable and the print is fantastic. You can style these so many different ways which definitely helps me. Since I work in Palm Springs, I often transition my work looks to go out for drinks… and such!

I styled my pants for a fun easy daytime look. I paired the Moss Pant with my Green Trina Turk sweater and denim slip on sneakers. Easy going for brunch on a Sunday before hitting the town.

Then to transition to night, I changed into my strappy Chinese Laundry  heels and I added my H&M leather jacket. Perfect for a chilly night!

Christmas PJ Party!

With this time of year normally crazy for everyone, it’s nice to remember to take time for yourself and enjoy the day. That’s exactly what I did with Nicole (my blogger BFF) today. Being that we both work in retail, we try to stay stress free this time of year. I was so happy when Nicole suggested that we have a Christmas PJ Party to catch up and finish wrapping gifts.

Not only was the idea great, but so were our PJ’s. We both bought the same flannel romper from Nordstrom Rack in different prints. How crazy is that?

Well we had a great time! We had eggnog while we had girl talk and did a small gift exchange.

Oh and we had a fun pillow fight…it was so funny that we ended up in full on laughter.

Such a fun relief right before christmas. I might need to plan this out again for next year with Nicole.

Oh it’s Monday?

That is my question when I open my eyes every Monday. I instantly get the Monday Blues and wish it was Friday already! There should be some type of medication to overcome the Monday Blues.

How do overcome the Monday Blues?

I feel that starting each week with goals helps me use Mondays as my starting point with achieving the goals and staying focused. I look at Monday is my day to refocus and remember what I hustle hard for.

A little Beyoncé (or future, if I’m feeling ratchet) always start my Monday right. I love music and this always affects my mood and energy.

Closet Confessions: Trina Turk

A few weeks ago, I had the amazing opportunity to style a closet for my mom’s open house event. Guess who sponsored the closet….TRINA FREAKIN’ TURK! I almost died when my mom told me the news, because you guys know I love Trina Turk.

The team at Trina Turk were amazing and sent us samples from the newest Holiday collection, which, is AH-MAZING! The collection is the perfect mix of texture, print, & jumpsuits. You guys know I LIVE for a jumpsuit and Trina has a few that are to die for.

I was able to style two closets in the home with the beautiful collections. I also styled a few full looks through out the bedrooms in the home as well. The party guests were in love with the closet and I had to keep an eye on a few of the ladies… haha

Thank you again for the Trina Turk team for the partner ship… Now I need to hit the Palm Springs location for some holiday pieces!

let’s fall into…fall!

Yes, I said transition in the fall. Which is somewhat a joke right now in the desert, because it is literally still 90 degrees outside. I know it’s crazy!! Well in my head, I’m currently strolling down 5th avenue in brisk fall weather.

That’s why I am just styling myself for cooler weather, maybe mother nature will catch the hint. I recently shot with a new photographer, Miranda of Miranda Rose photography in Palm Springs and absolutely love the shots!!

My look was a little biker chic. I was inspired to pull out my black leather jacket from H&M. It is the perfect essential for fall & instead of a heavy jacket I still look stylish in it. I also had to break in my new black booties from Nordstrom Rack. They are the perfect low booties and so comfortable.

I can’t believe it’s already going to be November. This year is flying by and I’m still trying to catch from my birthday weekend. Haha (kidding… but not kidding)

Before we know it, it will Christmas then New Years….ahhhh!

happy birthday to me!

Last week I celebrated my 24th birthday… it’s my Kobe year! I am not really a birthday person anymore, but I’m getting old now. #20yearoldproblems

Well this birthday is a special one, because….I got a new car. My little 1992 Mercedes had run it’s course and finally had to part ways. I definitely upgraded… to a FIAT! Yes, a cute little fiat. I am so in love with my new car and I want to thank my parents for helping me with the transaction.

I haven’t named my little lady yet…. can anyone help me think of a name???

This week is a busy one in Palm Springs…. not only because my birthday is this week! It’s modernism week in Palm Springs!! I attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new office of The Paul Kaplan Group.

They have a newly renovated office in Palm Springs and I must say it is beautiful. They have office space and a retail section of the store. Yes, you can buy a home and buy all your midcentury needs for your home.

DSC_0001 DSC_0003 DSC_0054 DSC_0056

For the occasion, I wore this retro jumpsuit that I snagged from my mom. It totally fit the vibe of the event. Plus, who doesn’t love a good jumpsuit?

I received so many compliments that day about the jumpsuit…I think I might need to keep it for myself. : )

jumpin, jumpin!

….’cause it’s 11:30 and the club is jumpin, jumpin! When I wrote this post title that song came to my head.

Can you believe it’s almost fall already? It amazes me that this year is going by so fast. It’s now time to JUMP into fall… see how that Destiny’s Child reference made sense?

Since I live in the desert, we don’t get a true fall here… we just get out of the triple digit heat. Anything is better than living in hell, right?

DSC_0104 DSC_0105

I don’t like to invest in a full wardrobe for the fall so I love pieces that I can transition into the fall from the summer. This Michael Kors is exactly that piece that will help me jump into fall.

The deep blue is so neutral and can be styled so many different ways with contrasting colors.

I brought back out my navy and red Tory Burch heels to keep the look classic and chic. I really can’t get enough of these shoes, the detailed straps on the front bring an ethic feel to them. The color scheme keep it very classic, especially with that chunky heel.
