The Day to Night Look!

DSC_0046 (3)

I have some very exciting news! I recently moved to a great position at….TRINA TURK! Yes, it was a very unexpected move and I am so happy! I have been welcomed with open arms and I’m happy to be apart of the brand.

The Moss 2 Pant has become one of my favorite go-to pieces in the last few weeks. The fit is impeccable and the print is fantastic. You can style these so many different ways which definitely helps me. Since I work in Palm Springs, I often transition my work looks to go out for drinks… and such!

I styled my pants for a fun easy daytime look. I paired the Moss Pant with my Green Trina Turk sweater and denim slip on sneakers. Easy going for brunch on a Sunday before hitting the town.

Then to transition to night, I changed into my strappy Chinese Laundry  heels and I added my H&M leather jacket. Perfect for a chilly night!

Christmas PJ Party!

With this time of year normally crazy for everyone, it’s nice to remember to take time for yourself and enjoy the day. That’s exactly what I did with Nicole (my blogger BFF) today. Being that we both work in retail, we try to stay stress free this time of year. I was so happy when Nicole suggested that we have a Christmas PJ Party to catch up and finish wrapping gifts.

Not only was the idea great, but so were our PJ’s. We both bought the same flannel romper from Nordstrom Rack in different prints. How crazy is that?

Well we had a great time! We had eggnog while we had girl talk and did a small gift exchange.

Oh and we had a fun pillow fight…it was so funny that we ended up in full on laughter.

Such a fun relief right before christmas. I might need to plan this out again for next year with Nicole.

My day in LA…

A few weeks ago, my friend Courtney let me know she would be coming to LA from ATL. I haven’t seen Courtney since I’ve moved to Cali so I HAD to make the drive to LA for her.

Since I’m a few hours out, I have to trips to LA count for the full day. I decided to hit Santa Monica to enjoy a day of shopping and ocean view. I can’t remember that last time I saw the ocean…

I went a little crazy in Nordstrom, Victoria’s Secret, Zara, and so many other stores… it was a great day. I’ve been into a Nasty Gal boutique so I stopped in the one at the 3rd Street Promenade… It was an interesting.

Nasty Gal boutiques are kind of what you expect. Semi-overpriced “vintage looking” pieces. They definitely cater to that rich girl in LA who likes that look.

After shopping, I picked up Courtney and her friends Hira and Nabihah. We all squeezed into my tiny Fiat and headed to dinner. We found this awesome Mexican spot near their Air B n B. The food was so good that I couldn’t finish.

After a margarita and a shot of Tequila… Tequila won! It was a great day in LA and I can’t wait to go back.

Oh it’s Monday?

That is my question when I open my eyes every Monday. I instantly get the Monday Blues and wish it was Friday already! There should be some type of medication to overcome the Monday Blues.

How do overcome the Monday Blues?

I feel that starting each week with goals helps me use Mondays as my starting point with achieving the goals and staying focused. I look at Monday is my day to refocus and remember what I hustle hard for.

A little Beyoncé (or future, if I’m feeling ratchet) always start my Monday right. I love music and this always affects my mood and energy.

This week is a busy one in Palm Springs…. not only because my birthday is this week! It’s modernism week in Palm Springs!! I attended the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new office of The Paul Kaplan Group.

They have a newly renovated office in Palm Springs and I must say it is beautiful. They have office space and a retail section of the store. Yes, you can buy a home and buy all your midcentury needs for your home.

For the occasion, I wore this retro jumpsuit that I snagged from my mom. It totally fit the vibe of the event. Plus, who doesn’t love a good jumpsuit?

I received so many compliments that day about the jumpsuit…I think I might need to keep it for myself. : )

pool party , anyone?

One thing I love (or one of the many things) about working retail is finding great deals. Especially working for major companies that sell lots of designer collections, you see all the great deals first. Being a manager helps too! HA.

Well a few days ago this pink “floatie” handbag from Moschino came into my store and EVERYONE came up to me to tell how I HAD to buy this bag. When I finally saw the bag, I fell in love instantly. Where else will you find a bag this unique? I debated on the bag for a day, because of the price point. The price was so low from the original I had to do it.

And here we are… chilling poolside with my new bae.

great, great shakes.

yesterday i had the luxury of taking a half day at work. i took the opportunity to check out great shakes! I’ve heard lots of reviews on how original and amazing their shakes are and plus they come with cute mini donuts.

and original the recipes are! i mean they have SMORES shakes. yes, smores (with toasted marshmallows on top). i side eyed a few of the options, but i kept my choice safe for my first visit.

#trappedntravel: San Francisco

As you all know, I recently took a trip to san Francisco with my sisters. We had a wonderful time and everyday was a totally new experiences. We did a lot of sight seeing and stayed at a hostel for the first time… and it certainly will not be the last!

Midweek Mediation.

DSC_0176Wednesdays are normally the best, because we’re so close to the weekend. working retail never really allows me to have true weekends. I live vicariously through all of you!

DSC_0188 DSC_0212

For me, it’s typically my day to regroup. I tend to get in the weekend mood and that is how I often miss my weekly goals.

DSC_0185 DSC_0184

Plus, I might be a chronic procrastinator. don’t judge y’all.

This week I took a different method to my Wednesday and took time to practice some yoga and mediation. Yes, I’m a yogi on the side… like wayyyy on the side, I’ve been in months.

And since I haven’t been in awhile, so my form is not the best, but it always makes my body feel amazing afterwards.

Do you guys do anything that keeps you focused throughout the week? What helps you?

Juice It Up

My mom and I started juicing yesterday to begin the year with a healthy diet. I wouldn’t say it’s a resolution, but just starting in the right direction. Whole Foods is always my hot spot to get fresh pressed juices, because they give many options to choose the perfect juice.
DSC_0206DSC_0209 DSC_0211

After a yoga and booty barre class, I wanted to wear something very easy and comfortable for the rest of the day. I had a few errands to run and pulled out my new denim dress from Old Navy. DSC_0187 DSC_0176 The dress is pretty plain on it’s own so I decided to make my look denim on denim. I added my medium wash denim jacket over the dress to change the dynamic of the look. The denim jacket is one of my favorite staples, because it can completely change a look to whatever you want it to be. DSC_0202 DSC_0201

When it comes to juicing, I love green drinks. I normally mix everything together. LOL. The main ingredients I typically use are: celery, cucumber, kale, ginger, lemon, & a few others. Orange and apple juice are my favorite fruit juices. DSC_0150 DSC_0152 DSC_0157 DSC_0179 DSC_0183 DSC_0196Dress: Old Navy
