#trappedintravel: where’s my next destination?

Last summer, I traveled to Tokyo with my sisters Brandy and Bryce. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life and since then I have wanted to travel again. My mom brought the youtube/blogger, Smiley Adventures, to my attention awhile ago and I have the travel bug. I spent a good two days straight watching her and other travel vlogs. I have been so inspired to see the world and not waste time on the everyday cycle.

Now the question is where to next? One thing I have learned is not to miss the opportunity to travel and how to travel on a budget. I might have a trip in the works and i’ll keep everyone updated…

What destination is on your list to travel? Comment and let me know.

#Trappedintravel: Diver’s City Food!

On Monday, we hit Odaiba! Odaiba is an entertainment center if i can call it that. there is the main mall called diver city then there is the waterside with “the decks” mall then the toyota center and venus shopping center!

We tackled the 7 story diver city and there was so much shopping we were overwhlemed. i didn’t do much shopping, because i was really trying see the full mall and get the full experience. not only is there amazing shopping, but the food!

on the first floor of the mall, there is a saniro shop that sells hello kitty pancakes! Yes…hello kitty pancakes!! yum!

They had a beautiful food court and we had to stop there for lunch! i had a noodle dish w/ egg and pork with red peppers. Brandy had octupus fried balls! They were super good.

Bryce had authentic japanese ramen…not the on the stove ramen noodles!

#trappedintravel: japanese style

here are a few snapshots of japanese style! i love the girly/feminine style vs. the urban style japanese girls wear. the way they mix prints & patterns has definitely inspired my style!

#trappedintravel: suited up!

I wanted to be really comfortable on my flight to tokyo, but there’s nothing worse than wearing something you regret in an hour into a ten hour flight! lol i chose this amazing jumpsuit my mom bought recently. It was so loose and comfortable…exactly what i wanted!

I kept my jumpsuit on when we decided to walk around koreatown! I took these shots on the steps of the k-pop cafe! I love the alternating colors of the stairs.

Jumpsuit: ellen tracy
Shoes: kate spade
bag: h&m

#trappedintravel: k-pop cafe!

we arrived at our hotel, hotel hanabi, we rested then hit the area near our hotel. it was amazing being in country that you are truly exploring and trying to understand everything around you. I realized we were in the most polite city ever! everyone walks on a certain side of the sidewalk and doesn’t push or shove! Hmm..new york, see you can be nice!

we stumbled upon koreatown and discovered all these k-pop cafes. which are cafes typically on the second floor on top of a k-pop shop! well we found the cutest one ever!!

we found seats at the window and walked the intersections below!

Here some shots from the inside:

Every drink is themed around a k-pop group and brandy ordered a coffee and this is how it came…how cute, right?

#trappedintravel: packing list!

only three more days until my sisters (brandy and bryce) head to tokyo for the next 6 days! we are all so excited for the trip and have commenced our packing for the trip! since we’re girls, this has become a two day event already. we have to keep switching looks and matching it to the different events we have planned everyday.

i decided to do an essentials packing list for traveling:

  • passports or travel documents: you won’t get anywhere with these! we all have our passports and passport cards so we’re covered!
  • charger: in this age, you can’t leave anywhere without a charger or chargers! the girls decided that we are going to bring an extension cord with us so we can have everything charging at night!
  • magazines/books: my number one item when i’m flying is to have the latest magazines with me. long flights are the best time to go through and read all the articles. since we have a total of 19 hours traveling to japan. we will have a few books as well!
  • luggage/small cross body: well you have to pack somehow, right? our luggage was a little too big for the picture, but we all have luggage and are taking small cross body bags to have from day to day.
  • sneakers: since it’s rainy in tokyo right now, we are all bringing great day tennis shoes with us. we are all bringing a pair of converse for our long days of walking.
  • technology: as much as i need magazines and books, i will need my phone and laptop! lol. i have all my movies from itunes loaded up on my ipad ready to go! clueless and bridesmaids are always my favorites for flights. they keep me laughing.
  • camera: the most essential packing item to really savor your trip. your camera can document your entire trip and be your portfolio to show others.

i’m really excited for our trip and will try to post as much of it while we are in tokyo!
